National Parent Teacher Association

As the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.

The National PTA does not work alone. Working in cooperation with many national education, health, safety, and child advocacy groups and federal agencies, National PTA collaborates on projects that benefit children and that bring valuable resources to its members. National PTA recognizes that p oor environmental conditions impact the health of our nation's students and school staff. These problems contribute to absenteeism, student medication use, learning difficulties, sick building syndrome, staff turnover, and greater liability for school districts. These problems demand a strong and sustained partnership of federal, state, and local entities working together. States and schools cannot address their problems alone and equity in education must be a national priority. Modern, safe, and healthy education facilities for all students now will result in a better-educated, more informed, more productive population in the future. For more information, visit www.pta.org.
