| WHO WE ARE |
Finalists at the 2010 Cooking up Change National Healthy Cooking Contest The Cooking up Change 2011 National Healthy Cooking Contest is a presented by Healthy Schools Campaign as part of a national effort to transform the future of school food. Healthy Schools CampaignHealthy Schools Campaign, an independent not-for-profit organization, is a leading authority on healthy school environments and a voice for people who care about our environment, our children, and education. HSC advocates for policies and practices that allow all students, teachers and staff to learn and work in a healthy school environment through initiatives at the national level and on the ground in Chicago. For example, HSC provides training for parents to become recess monitors and publishes free resources such as The Quick & Easy Guide to Green Cleaning in Schools. HSC also brings together advocates to speak up for policies -- both locally and nationally -- that support healthy environments for schoolchildren. Cooking up Change is a key element of HSC's ongoing work to change the future of school food. Cooking up ChangeHealthy Schools Campaign launched the Cooking up Change Healthy Cooking Contest in 2007 to engage students and the broader culinary community in a dialogue about healthful, great-tasting school food and the need for increased resources for our nation’s school meal program. Since then, the Cooking up Change has grown to include the national contest and an annual day of action for healthy school food. Learn more about Cooking up Change:
