Thank You for Helping Send the Student Chefs to Washington, DC

On May 5, a school meal designed by culinary students at Richards Career Academy, a public high school in Chicago, will be served to more than 40,000 students across the U.S. and in the cafeteria of the U.S. House of Representatives. The meal won first place in Healthy Schools Campaign’s Cooking up Change healthy cooking contest in Oct. 2008.

The six high school students are cooking the meal at a briefing in Washington D.C. with White House chef Sam Kass, thanks to many generous donations from advocates and supporters. Your contribution helped create a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students and sending a powerful message to policy-makers about the need for fresh, healthy school food.
