Study Finds Green Schools Cost Effective

The report was sponsored by American Federation of Teachers, the American Institute of Architects, the American Lung Association, the Federation of American Scientists, and the U.S. Green Building Council.

Cooking Up Change Winner Appears on Spatulatta.com

Isabella and Olivia, co-hosts of Spatulatta.com, the online cooking show for kids, recently made a scrumptious dinner built around an "Undersea Adventure" with the help of a young Cooking Up Change auction winner. Scott's family's winning bid won him a spot on this James Beard Award-winning webcast.

"When we saw the recipes Scott wanted to make we freaked!" Isabella and Olivia wrote in their latest newsletter. "He wanted to make poisson en papillote (fish in parchment) and a trifle for dessert. It seemed like something that would come from a fancy restaurant. But Ms. Janet [Scott's mom] said it just seemed hard. If you've ever made foil treasure chests you could work with parchment paper. So we thought why not! It was easy and delicious! If we can do it, so can you."

Cooking Up Change, HSC's annnual benefit, was held in September at U.S. Cellular Field. Isabella and Olivia attended, as did professional chefs Gale Gand of Tru and Bruce Sherman of North Pond.
