There is a very limited time for a small number of school districts to participate in this pilot project. Applicants will be chosen on a first come first serve basis and only the first 30 applications are guaranteed of submission into the program.

There is a four step process for your participation:

Four Steps to Participate

1. Send us your energy data.

Step 1 Deadline - January 15, 2009.

Fax us the following information:

  1. A Letter of Authorization (LOA) allowing us to review your historical energy usage. CLICK HERE to download the letter.
  2. A copy of a recent energy utility bill.
  3. If you're not a ComEd customer, we'll need a copy of your supply agreement with your electricty supplier.

This information should be faxed to Healthy Schools Campaign at 312.419.1806 or emailed to Mark Bishop at mark@healthyschoolscampaign.org . (Questions? Call Mark Bishop at 312-419-1810.)

2. We will review your options with you.

After we receive your LOA and attached materials, someone from the demand response program will contact you and discuss with you your options for signing an agreement. This will include a quote for how much your payments will be.

3. Sign a letter of agreement.

Step 3 Deadline - January 31, 2009.

Once you have the information for the payments, you will need to sign a letter of agreement confirming your commitment to the demand response program. ClearChoice Energy will continue to work with your school to develop your energy management plan after the agreement is made.

4. Get started.

ClearChoice Energy will then work with your school to develop operating procedures to reduce non-critical electric consumption. We can also assist you with metering and equipment to facilitate your involvement in the program. We will enroll you in the program, notify you of events, and work with you to successfully implement your program.
