American Association of School Administrators

Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN)

The Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN) is a national, multidisciplinary, non-profit organization whose mission is to protect the fetus and the child from environmental hazards and promote a healthy environment by focusing on the areas of research, policy, and education. CEHN was the first network of its kind in the world. Coalition for Community Schools
The Coalition for Community Schools is an alliance of national, state, and local organizations in education, K–16, youth development, community planning and development, family support, health and human services, government, and philanthropy as well as national, state, and local community school networks. The Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) is the only professional organization whose principal purpose is improving the places where children learn. International Brotherhood of Teamsters – Public Services Division

Founded in 1903, the Teamsters Union represents more than 1.4 million hardworking men and women in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. International Executive Housekeepers Association

ISSA, The Experts on Cleaning and Maintenance

ISSA is the leading trade association for the institutional and industrial cleaning industry. ISSA’s worldwide membership includes more than 5,500 companies including manufacturers and distributors of cleaning products, in addition to building service contractors and in-house cleaning service providers. Our association members provide cleaning products and services that are ultimately consumed by schools, hospitals, day care centers, food service establishments, hotels, office buildings, retail facilities and other institutional and industrial establishments. National Association of Charter School Authorizers

The National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA) is a nonprofit membership organization serving authorizers, the entities that select and oversee the nation’s charter schools. Our members also include charter school advocates and organizations. We are proud to have over 100 of the nation’s largest, most resourceful authorizers as dues-paying members, and our members oversee well over half of the nation’s 4,000 charter schools. Since our founding by seven enterprising authorizers in 2000, the organization has reached out to all 40 charter states and the District of Columbia. National Association of Elementary School Principals

The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), founded in 1921, is a professional organization serving over 27,000 elementary and middle school principals. As a national organization, NAESP operates through a network of affiliated associations in every state, the District of Columbia and internationally in many locations such as Canada, Australia, South America, and Africa. The Association believes that the progress and well-being of the individual child must be at the forefront of all elementary and middle school planning and operations. National Association of School Nurses

The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) is the primary, indispensable resource for school nursing and school health programs, services, and experiences. NASN is a specialty nursing organization representing school nurses, organized in 1968, incorporated in 1977, and classified as a not-for-profit organization under section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code. With a membership of 14,000 school nurses, NASN’s core purpose is to advance the delivery of professional school health services to promote optimal learning in students. NASN has 51 State Affiliate School Nurse Organizations in 49 states, the District of Columbia, and overseas. NASN publications include the electronic NASN Weekly Digest News, the bi-monthly NASN Newsletter, the bi-monthly Journal of School Nursing, the NASN website, www.nasn.org, and information communicated to members through their affiliate directors and presidents. The NASN professional nursing staff provides educational support to members and collaborative partners, and is comprised of professional nurses with a large variety of experiences, resources and contacts in the field of healthcare. National Clearinghouse for Educational Facilities

Created in 1997 by the U.S. Department of Education, the National Clearinghouse for Educational Facilities (NCEF) provides information on planning, designing, funding, building, improving, and maintaining safe, healthy, high performance schools. National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education

NCPIE was founded in 1980, at the initiative of what was then the National School Volunteer Program (now National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education), with funding from the Ford Foundation and Union Carbide. From the outset, the participating organizations included parent organizations and advocacy groups as well as national education organizations representing teachers and administrators. The group has been meeting monthly ever since to monitor legislation, initiate projects, and share information and ideas about research, programs, and policies. www.ncpie.org.

National Association of State Boards of Education

The National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) represents state-level boards of education and works to strengthen state leadership in educational policymaking, promote excellence in the education for all students, advocate equality of access to educational opportunities, and assure continued citizen support for public education. NASBE is currently funded by CDC's Division of Adolescent and School Health to provide capacity-building assistance to state and local education policymakers and practitioners relating to: 1) HIV prevention policy and program improvement initiatives, and 2) establishing, maintaining, and evaluating healthy school nutrition programs. NASBE's widely used publication "Fit, Healthy, and Ready to Learn: A School Health Policy Guide" includes a chapter published in 2005 on "Policies Concerning Asthma, School Health Services, and Healthy Environments." National School Plant Management Association

The National School Plant Management Association (NSPMA), chartered in 1995, was formed in the interest of enhancing and promoting the educational process. Its purpose is to provide for the exchange of information that improves school plant management, maintenance and care through the promotion of acceptable policies, standards and practices; and to promote the professional advancement of school plant management personnel. Parents for Public Schools

Parents for Public Schools (PPS) is a national organization of community-based chapters in 11 states, organizing parents and communities to support public education and improvement of public schools for all children. PPS supports quality public education and improved public schools “in and for the common good” as essential for building and sustaining our communities and our democracy. Parents for Public Schools believes that public education, accessible to all, is essential for building participatory democracy. Public Education Network (PEN)

Public Education Network (PEN) is a national association of local education funds (LEFs) and individuals working to advance public school reform in low-income communities across our country. PEN believes an active, vocal constituency is the key to ensuring that every child, in every community, benefits from a quality public education. PEN and its members are building public demand and mobilizing resources for quality public education on behalf of 12 million children in more that 1,000 school districts in 32 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. School Nutrition Association

The School Nutrition Association (SNA) is a national, nonprofit professional organization representing more than 55,000 members who provide high-quality, low-cost meals to students across the country. SNA’s members work tirelessly to improve the nutrition of school children through the meals they offer. These professionals are involved in all areas of the school nutrition market, from directing district nutrition and foodservice operations, to managing and staffing individual school cafeterias and kitchens, to providing products and services to school foodservice programs.

Recognized as the authority on school nutrition, SNA has been advancing the availability, quality and acceptance of school nutrition programs as an integral part of education for more than 60 years.
