Responsibilities
In addition to specific projects, interns also contribute to the overall work of the Healthy Schools Campaign. Interns and supervisors will work together to determine an appropriate schedule and internship length. Generally, interns commit to working between 16-40 flexible hours per week for a period that ranges from two months to one year.
Benefits
While HSC internships are unpaid, travel costs are reimbursed and many students earn academic credit for their experience. The following benefits are extended to all interns:
- Reimbursement for travel costs to and from the HSC
- Free copy of the Fresh Choices cookbook co-authored by HSC Founder & Executive Director Rochelle Davis
- A day at the Illinois legislature in Springfield with HSC Deputy Director Mark Bishop, if the legislature is in session.
- Possible academic credit
